Print Station USA: a Shopify storefront wired for gang sheets and no-minimum DTF orders

Print Station USA prints custom DTF gang sheets and ready-to-press transfers out of Houston, so the storefront had to make uploading, arranging, and ordering film as simple as the three-step promise it advertises.

The brief

Print Station USA sells three ways to buy the same thing: a custom gang sheet builder, a pre-arranged sheet uploader, and DTF transfers by size. A stock Shopify theme treats those as ordinary products, which buries the tools creators actually came for and makes "no minimums, free shipping over $100" easy to miss. The store needed a theme that puts the builder, file guidance, and per-size pricing front and center.

  • Three overlapping order paths (builder, uploader, transfers by size) confuse shoppers when shown as flat product cards
  • File-quality and format rules (PNG, JPG, PDF, high resolution) live in policy pages instead of next to the upload step where they prevent reprints
  • Trust signals like no minimums, free shipping over $100, and the satisfaction guarantee get lost in a generic apparel layout

What I built

Gencer Karakaya built a custom Shopify theme that frames the homepage around the three-step gang sheet flow and routes shoppers straight to the right tool: build, upload, or buy by size. Custom Liquid sections surface file requirements and resolution tips at the point of upload, while the Houston DTF positioning and free-shipping threshold sit where they reinforce the buy decision rather than hide in the footer.

  • Custom Liquid sections for the three order paths, each linking the gang sheet builder, uploader, and transfer-by-size catalog with clear visual separation
  • An on-page three-step explainer (choose, upload high-res, preview and order) that mirrors the real builder workflow and sets file-quality expectations early
  • Persistent merchandising for no-minimum ordering, free shipping over $100, and the satisfaction guarantee, built as reusable theme blocks
  • Performance-minded markup and image handling so the upload-heavy storefront stays fast and stable on mobile for creators ordering on the go

FAQ

Why build a custom Shopify theme instead of using a DTF app's default layout?

Print Station USA offers three ways to order the same film: a custom builder, an uploader, and transfers by size. A custom theme lets each path get its own clear entry point and pairs the gang sheet tools with file guidance and trust signals, which an off-the-shelf layout cannot organize cleanly.

How does the build help reduce reprints from bad files?

The theme surfaces accepted formats (PNG, JPG, PDF) and the high-resolution requirement right where shoppers choose and upload, instead of hiding them on a policy page. Setting expectations before checkout means cleaner files and fewer crisp-print surprises.

Is the storefront built to stay fast despite the upload tools?

Yes. The custom Liquid sections and image handling are kept lean so the gang sheet flow and homepage load quickly on mobile, where many creators and t-shirt brands place orders between print runs.
