ONS Marble: a custom Shopify home for natural stone

ONS Marble has carved natural stone since 1998, and the storefront had to feel like the factory floor: heavy, handmade sinks, fireplace mantels and bathtubs presented with the calm of a gallery, not a generic catalog.

The brief

ONS Marble sells made-to-order natural stone (marble sinks, fireplace mantels, console tables, bathtubs, flooring and raw slabs) to homeowners, interior designers and architects alike. The challenge was housing two very different buyers under one roof: everyday-living shoppers browsing finished pieces and trade professionals who expect curated pricing and bespoke commissions rather than a plain add-to-cart flow.

  • One catalog had to speak to both retail homeowners and the 'Marble for Professionals' trade audience without diluting either path
  • Large-format stone (bathtubs, mantels, slabs) needed photography-first layouts where the material, veining and finish carry the sale
  • A 20+ year, 200+ design heritage had to read as a luxury gallery, not a commodity tile shop

What I built

Gencer Karakaya built a fully custom Shopify theme around the brand's "Only Natural Stone" identity. Collections are split by use case (Marble Elegance for Everyday Living vs. Marble for Professionals) and by product type, so sinks, mantels, console tables, bathtubs, flooring and slabs each get room to breathe. A quote-led "Unlock Special Marble Pricing" capture sits alongside browsing, routing trade and bespoke enquiries to the sales team instead of forcing checkout on heavy, made-to-order stone.

  • Custom Liquid sections with large, edge-to-edge stone imagery so veining and finish read clearly across sinks, bathtubs and slabs
  • Dual collection architecture (everyday living and professional/trade) layered over type-based collections for sinks, mantels, tables and flooring
